This is the easy way to cook a turkey.
Begin by heating your oven to 350 degrees. Place the turkey in a large roasting pan. A good stuffing consists of:
One pound dried bread
One small sliced onion
Three tablespoons parsley
One teaspoon rosemary
Cut the bread into cubes and toss them with the herbs. Place the stuffing mixture into the cavity of the bird. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over the bird.
Pour approximately two inches of water into the bottom of the roasting pan. Cover the bird completely with aluminum foil and crimp around the edges of the pan. As the bird cooks the water inside will turn into steam helping to cook the bird and keep it moist.
Place the bird in the center of the hot oven. Cook according to the following table:
Three to four pounds-one to one and one half hours
Four to five pounds-one and one half to two hours
Five to six pounds-two to two and one half hours
Six to seven pounds-two and one half to three hours
seven pounds to nine pounds-three to four hours
Nine to twelve pounds-four to five hours
The foil keeps the moisture in and prevents burning so you can leave the bird in longer with no fear of it burning. Remove the turkey from the oven and open the foil to allow the steam to escape. Allow the bird to stand for ten minutes before carving.
The key to a moist and easy turkey is the covering of aluminum foil keeping the moisture in and preventing burning.
Have a great meal.
